During the last days I’m trying to do some too long neglected housework and some good results are coming, so I’m motivated to do something similar here, let’s see… :)
Intanto un altro dei vecchi LO fatto per Scrappando, e a proposito, avete visto l’annuncio del nuovo design team? :)
Per me e’ stata una bellissima avventura, mi ha insegnato tanto e ho capito qualcosa in piu’ sulle mie capacita’ e sui miei limiti. Grazie a Patty per l’opportunita’ che mi ha dato e alle mie compagne di squadra da cui ho imparato molto, mi mancate gia’ :)
One of my last DT assignments for Scrappando, it’ been a wonderful adventure and I’ll miss you all girls, thanks a lot for this time together :)

Questo e’ un mini album che ho fatto per il blog di Scrappando qualche tempo fa, all’interno piccole note su come dorme Sofia in questo periodo: quali sono le sue favole preferite, i pupazzi che porta nel lettone, le ninna nanne, piccoli ricordi di questo momento.
Le cose cambiano talmente tanto in fretta che l’unico modo per me per non dimenticarle e’ prendere questi piccoli appunti, da novembre (mese in cui ho fatto l’album) ad oggi sono gia’ cambiate alcune cose, e non sempre in meglio :PPP
A mini album made for Scrappando DT assignment. It’s all about my daughter’s way of sleeping, her favorite bedtime stories, the plushies which sleep with her, whatever she does before falling asleep…

Misurare e tagliare tutto questo cartone e’ stato un bel lavoretto ma Sofia e’ stata felicissima della cucina e la usa tutti i giorni e noi siamo contenti di aver trovato un regalo apprezzato, ricicloso e fatto interamente da noi :D
Santa’s little helpers are very proud of their work :)
Measuring and cutting all this cardboard has been quite of a job but Sofia was really happy about her new kitchen and she plays with it every day and we’re glad we found something appreciated and built with our hands with recycled materials :D
Ci sono ancora piccoli aggiustamenti da fare: la cucina e’ ricoperta di carta adesiva, quella da mensole che si trova nei brico, i lati “muccosi” e i piani bianchi, ma e’ finita un po’ troppo presto e dobbiamo ancora tappare dei buchini ;) Il pattern viene dalla mente geniale di forty-two roads e nel suo etsy shop trovate oltre alla cucina, anche una lavatrice che prima o poi dovremo fare :)
Il pattern e’ chiaro e ben spiegato, le misure sono in inches ma il lavoro di conversione in centimetri e’ rapido e anche con qualche piccola approssimazione gli incastri sono risultati perfetti alla fine :)
There are still a few tweaks to be made: the kitchen is covered with contact paper, white with spotted “cow-like” sides, but it ended a bit too early and there are still little holes to be filled :)
The pattern comes from an ingenious idea of forty-two roads and in her etsy shop you can also find a washing machine which we will soon build :)

Per fortuna qui ho un infermiere d’eccezione che mi aiuta:
I have a lot of things to show, I’ve been progressing with felt food and I’m making crochet hats and gloves, but Sofia is sick and she’s taking a while to get better; she described the situation very well: “mummy, I’m your mussel and your my rock” :D
Luckily we have a special nurse helping:

Ieri ho pubblicato il mio articoletto di fotografia nel blog di Scrappando, alla fine c’e’ una sfida facile facile se vi va di partecipare :)

No, perche’ i regali hand made sono sicuramente i piu’ belli e mamma e papa’ amano farli e riceverli, ma farsi venire l’idea giusta per una quattrenne non e’ sempre facile ;)
Dopo un intenso scambio epistolare con il Polo Nord si e’ giunti ad una conclusione, e speriamo che piaccia: fornitura di colori di vario tipo (che tornano buoni anche alla mamma), un gioco del DS (che sono sicura che sara’ il punto centrale della letterina quando ci decideremo a scriverla), e il resto costruito con amore dai piccoli folletti di Babbo Natale che sono all’opera per fare finalmente questa cucina che volevano preparare due anni fa e un sacco di cibo di feltro :)
I folletti fanno la posta ai negozi della zona, si fiondano come falchi sugli scatoloni di dimensioni adatte, nascondono nelle cantine tutto quello che trovano, comprano lame per taglierina in quantita’ industriale e sperano che il risultato sia pari all’impegno ;P
Il cibo e’ invece lavoro notturno, quando la gnoma dorme, che ormai ha gli occhi come radar e non si puo’ neanche tagliare un pezzetto di feltro senza che il fatto venga notato e catalogato.
Un pezzo ogni sera, perche’ la folletta cuce come una lumaca, a mano e spesso senza neanche sapere esattamente cosa sta facendo, ma tanto alla gnoma delle cuciture non importa niente ;)
Per adesso il bottino e’ questo:
It’s been a rough year and even Santa Claus has to work hard to bring nice presents without giving up electricity supply or internet subscription :P
I mean, hand made presents are sure the best and mummy and daddy love making them, but finding the right idea for a four-years-old isn’t that easy :)
After a long consultation with the North Pole we came to a conclusion, and we hope it will be liked: a supply of color of different kinds (useful for mummy too), a Nintendo DS game (which I’m sure will be the main point of the letter to Santa) and the rest lovingly made by Santa’s little helpers who are working hard to build this kitchen (which is two years overdue) and a lot of felt food :)
The little helpers are patrolling nearby shops, grabbing cardboard boxes of the right size, hiding everything in the basement, buying huge amounts of blades for the cutter, hoping that the result will be on par with the hard work ;P
Felt food is night job though, when the little gnome is sleeping, since she has eyes smarter than a radar and you can’t even cut a piece of felt without it being noticed and remembered.
One piece per evening, since the sewing helper is slow as a snail, hand made and often without even exactly knowing what she’s doing, but the little gnome won’t care about the seams at all ;)
This is the bounty so far:

Comunque vada sappiamo che per la gnoma (e anche per noi) sara’ un Natale stupendo :D
but there is more to come! However that may be, we’re sure that it will be a Merry Christmas for our gnome (and for us too) :D

From an idea blatantly copied from Manu and Cri (here the original) here is our advent calendar :D
Preparando queste calzine ho, credo definitivamente, rinunciato alla macchina da cucire :D
Dopo aver rischiato un esaurimento nervoso e dopo 1000 inceppamenti ho ceduto e stavo per cucirle a mano quando e’ arrivato colui il quale mi tira sempre fuori dai guai (perche’ una il marito mica se lo sceglie a caso!) e ha cucito 24 calzine a meraviglia :P
Ed eccole qui, cucite, numerate e in fase di imbottitura: con i ritagli di carta avanzati abbiamo leggermente riempito il piedino per renderle piu’ pienotte :)
I think that with this socks I have finally given up with the sewing machine :D
After risking a nervous breakdown and after 1000 jams I surrendered and I was about to sew them by hand when the one who always gets me out of trouble (you don’t pick a random husband!) came to my help and perfectly sewed 24 socks :P
And here they are, sewed, numbered and in the process of being stuffed: we filled them with scraps of paper so that they have a more round look :)
La base e’ un pezzo di cartone da riciclare ricoperto di carta crespa verde. Abbiamo passato un doppio filo di lana (bianco e rosso) intorno al cartone e abbiamo appeso le calzine con delle mollette di legno :)
Ecco il davanti e il retro del pannello, si vede che lo scotch di carta e’ uno degli strumenti preferiti da Sofia? :D
The base is made with a piece of recycled cardboard covered with green crepe paper. We wrapped a double wool thread (white and red) around the base and we hung the socks with wood clothespins :)
Here is the front ant the back of the panel, it should be clear that masking tape is one of Sofia’s favorite tools :D

Non ho avuto il tempo di tirare fuori le mie cosine scrap, sparse un po’ dappertutto in scatole e scatoline, ma la sfida di questo mese e’ lo scraplift di una pagina di Tobina, quale occasione migliore per lavorare con materiali alternativi? :D
I’ve been trying to participate to the challenge organized by the girls of One More Scrap for a while, but every time I realize I’m too late. This month I finally made it! :D
I had no time to pull out my scrap things scattered everywhere, but this month’s challenge is a scraplift of a page by Tobina, just the perfect opportunity to work with alternative materials :D
La base e’ di cartoncino bristol, con una spruzzata di Glimmer Mist che mi ha mandato la Patty e se l’avessi avuta davanti al posto del corriere me la sarei sbaciucchiata tutta, era da una vita che desideravo provarlo, secondo me ci si possono fare meraviglie :DD
Il cartoncino effetto legno e’ disegnato a pennarello e acquarellato, il funghetto l’ho disegnato al pc e stampato, l’albero e’ un timbrino di Cocorie su carta paglia e il journaling e’ scritto su scotch di carta acquarellato.
Per finire ho aggiunto qualche pezzo di nastrini, pizzo e feltro.
Ho appena visto che la nuova ispirazione sul blog ASI e’ proprio sui funghetti, chissa’ se posso prendere due piccioni con una fava :PPP
The base is cardstock, with a dusting of Glimmer Mist sent to me by Patty and I would have kissed her if I could since I really wanted to try it, I think you can do wonders with that :DD
The wood-effect cardstock is drawn with a felt-tip pen and watercolored, the little mushroom was drawn at the computer and printed, the tree is a stamp from Cocorie on natural paper and the journaling is written on masking tape.
In the end I added some ribbons and felt.
I just noticed that the new inspiration on ASI blog is conveniently about mushrooms, so maybe I can kill two birds with one stone :PPP

Faccio ancora molta fatica a seguire gli schemi ma andando ad occhio si fanno comunque cose carine (anche se il cappellino per mio marito l’ho disfatto 3 volte!)
L’altra sera ho visto uno schema su etsy e me ne sono innamorata, per fortuna era davvero facilissimo e nell’arco di qualche puntata di “How I Met Your Mother” avevo gia’ la mia collana pronta da indossare :)
These days I’m crocheting a bit, it’s perfect for those little spare moments you get every now and then :)
I still find it quite hard to follow patterns, but I can do pretty things even improvising (although I’ve started over on my husband’s hat three times now!)
The other day I saw a pattern on etsy and I fell in love with it, luckily it was very simple and after just a few episodes of “How I Met Your Mother” I already had my necklace ready :)
La collanina viola in realta’ e’ di Sofia, ma ogni tanto me la presta :P
The violet necklace is actually Sofia’s, but she lends it to me sometimes :P

Gironzolando sul web credo di aver appena scoperto l’acqua calda: mi sono soffermata un po’ su Mamma Felice, sito di cui avevo sentito parlare, probabilmente c’ero anche passata un paio di volte nelle mie corse sul web, ma su cui non mi ero mai fermata davvero.
Grosso errore!
E’ un sito bellissimo, utile ed allegro, pieno di idee, un sito davvero intelligente e fatto bene.
A giudicare da quante persone lo frequentano ero davvero l’unica a non saperlo :D ma ci tenevo comunque a segnalarlo, si sa mai che ci sia qualche distratta come me che passa da queste parti :D

Surfing on the web I think I have found a great site: Mamma Felice. I heard about it, most likely I already stepped on it but I never really stopped to take a good look.
Big mistake!
It’s a wonderful site, useful and nice, full of ideas, really well made.
Judging from the crowd visiting it regularly I think I was the only one ignoring it :D but I still wanted to link it in case someone else like me missed it :D

Sofia wants to make pasta every day, so we’re tasting every kind of pizza, tagliatelle, cookies… the sweetest in the world for us :DD
